Where kids are excited to learn about Jesus!
HCC Kids is available Sunday Mornings at 10:30 am for birth through 5th grade and 9:00 am for birth through preschool.
Your kids will love our children’s programming; it’s where fun, play and learning about the Bible all come together in a comfortable, yet energetic environment!
What is HCC Kids?
Children are a valuable part of our church. Our vision is to join families as they see their kids FIND Jesus and discover His love for them, FOLLOW Jesus with their lives, and become empowered to SHARE Jesus’ love with their family and friends.
We are passionate about SHARING Jesus with them through a uniquely designed curriculum that kids can embrace and understand. Each Sunday, birth through 5th-grade children gather in HCC Kids for a safe, age-appropriate learning experience, filled with fun, games and creative interactive play.
Your First Visit
When you enter the Heartland Community Church parking lot you will immediately notice our special Kids Community parking in the south lot. We have designated parking because we love our families with kids at Heartland! You will enter the building through our south HCC Kids entrance. Once you enter, an attendant will assist you at our secure Guest Check-In station.
Guest Registration
The attendant will ask for the following information for the purpose of our kid’s security: family members’ names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your child. This will only occur during your first visit. The next time you visit, you will go directly to the Check-In Station monitors on the right where you will be able to print name tags.
In Case of Emergency
In the event that we must contact you during services concerning your child, we will text you with the number you used at the kid’s check in station on the main video screen in the Worship Center. At that time, please return to HCC Kids and an attendant will guide you to your child’s classroom to retrieve your child.
HCC Kids has six values that guide all of our children’s programs. We commit to always strive to be or use:
Creative Bible Teaching
We teach the Bible to children by using creative and interactive teaching styles and tools. We want kids to “get it”, not just hear it. Through creative Bible lessons, we strive to make the Bible come alive for our young ones, creating an environment where our kids remember God’s Word.
Safe
Our goal is to create a place where children feel safe physically, emotionally and spiritually. We want parents to feel comfortable leaving their children in our care. We strive to provide the safest environment possible.
Relevant and Applicable Teaching
Kids need to understand that God gave them an unchanging book full of wisdom and promises that apply to their lives today. If we want children to plant God’s word in their hearts, our teaching must be relevant to their lives. Not only do we want to teach the children the knowledge of the Bible, but also why they are learning it and how they can apply it to their situations.
Kid Focused
We strive to make our ministry totally about kids! This means we have to be on the look out for what kids get excited about. We will investigate what kids like and provide age appropriate programs with lots of enthusiasm!
Relationships
It is important for children to know that they are worthy to be cared for and invested in. We provide a place for children to know and be known, love and be loved and serve and be served. We accomplish this through providing a community in which our children can build relationships with their peers and leaders.
Fun!
Kids will want to come to church and learn about Jesus when they know that it will be fun. When we are creatively teaching the Bible in applicable ways that are relevant to our children, fun should definitely be in the mix, but not replace the message. Kids are motivated to learn when they are having fun!
