God is opening doors for us to join Him on His mission in Southwest Medina!

Heartland isn’t a perfect church, but it has done a great job of creating a welcoming atmosphere, making Jesus the “main thing”, striving to make disciples, and remaining very open and attentive to what God is doing in our community. We want to bring that same DNA and our mission to help people Find and Follow Jesus and to equip them to Share His love with the world to Southwest Medina and the world. There are still many people in Medina who do not know Jesus, that are not experiencing the joy, hope, love, peace, and life that can only be found in a relationship with Him.

We are planting this church so that we can continue to engage people in the process of finding Jesus, and we are stepping out in faith that God will lead us into this new adventure every step of the way. One of the core beliefs at Heartland is that the “good news” really is good news. God designed humanity to live and thrive in a relationship with Him forever. God created humanity out the love that exists at the core of who He is, and He made us in His image. He called His creation good, and incredibly he invited us to rule and reign with Him. Although Adam and Eve and all people since have rejected God and chosen their own way over His way, He made a way through His Son Jesus to restore the loving relationship between God and His creatures that was broken by sin. Following Jesus isn’t about a list of rules, it’s about discovering that the greatest gift any person could find is a relationship with a good and perfect God who loves them. We feel called to present this good news to any and all that may have given up on church but not on God.

Meet Our Heartland Williams Team

Heartland Williams Campus Pastor
Drew SteinhartHeartland Williams Campus Pastor

1.) What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

While there are still a few people who call me Andrew, I prefer to be called Drew (the name I officially adopted on the first day of school in 9th grade). I never go by Andy.

2.) If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

Campus Pastor at Heartland Williams + Friend of Family Ministry Staff + Official Geese Prevention Specialist + Medina County Fair Parking Emeritus.

3.) What is your favorite verse from The Bible?

I’m not sure I truly have a “favorite verse”. One of my favorite passages is John 15:1-17, where Jesus describe himself as a vine and His followers as branches. I love the picture this passage paints of what it looks like to abide in Christ, to stay connected to Him daily, and the way God brings about fruitfulness through obedient lives centered in a loving relationship with God.

4.) What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I love to play basketball, disc golf, spike ball, tennis, and several other sports. I especially enjoy coaching, serving, or mentoring students through relationships created by sports. I love to learn and frequently read about topics related to American and world history, sports, and life with Jesus. I also am passionate about caring for the birds who choose to make frequent stops in my front and backyard.

5.) What is your favorite cereal?

My favorite cereal is undoubtedly Reese’s Puffs, but since I want to live long and prosper my standard cereal has become Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds.

6.) Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?

Over. That being said, I’m not passionate about this enough to change the direction when someone else has hung it the opposite way.

7.) What are three things still left on your bucket list?

I’m not the biggest dreamer in the world, and I certainly don’t have a bucket list. Three things I’m always in pursuit of are the perfect cup of coffee, a hole in one in disc golf, and growth in the process of becoming a more loving husband.

Carissa SteinhartExecutive Events Director

1.) What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

Just Carissa, unless you are under 6 years of age; then you can call me Miss Riss.

2.) If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

Party Planner & Doer of “All the Things”

3.) What is your favorite verse from The Bible?

1 John 4:18 is engraved into my wedding ring – “There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out fear.”

4.) What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I love meeting with high school and college-aged ladies, working out at Orangetheory Fitness, and doing DIY projects!

Lucky Charms. My dad works for Kellogg’s so General Mills was forbidden in our house – as an adult, I’m now making up for lost time.

6.) Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?

Over, always.

7.) What are three things still left on your bucket list?

– Run a full marathon

Kids Community Director - Heartland Williams
Jenn CarterKids Community Director - Heartland Williams

1.) What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

Most people call me Jenn but my mom calls me Jenny Penny.

2.) If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

Frequent target shopper of all things play-doh, stickers and slime! Giver of snacks, KC team member, hallway monitor, diaper changer, tambourine extraordinaire, professional paper cutter…really it just changes by the minute.

3.) What is your favorite verse from The Bible?

There are so many but I love Phil 4:7 and Romans 15:13.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 5:13
‭‭
4.) What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

5.) What is your favorite cereal?

Frosted Mini Wheats but honey nut cheerios are a close second.

6.) Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?

When I hang it – over for sure. When any one of my 5 kiddos put a new roll on, your guess is as good as mine. But I choose to be grateful that they installed a new roll.

7.) What are three things still left on your bucket list?

-scuba diving in a underwater cave.

Worship Arts Director
Phil LahueWorship Arts Director

1.) What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

I’ve discovered that people in my life are split 50/50 across the Phil/Phillip divide which works out well, because I enjoy being called both equally.

2.) If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

Grabber of items on upper shelves, and Worshiper!

3.) What is your favorite verse from The Bible?

John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

I love this verse because Jesus really brings it home here for me as a disciple and it serves as my litmus test for how I’m doing. Jesus delivers the big picture three times, knowing already that I would need a certain level of simplicity and repetition if I am to follow him in showing God’s love to those around me.

4.) What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I am also a mental health counselor and am passionate about promoting positive mental health. In my free time I play guitar, voraciously consume music, spend way too much time looking at guitars and gear, and spend time with my wife on our old dairy farm. I also volunteer for a week every summer at The American Legion Buckeye Boys State as a counselor.

5.) What is your favorite cereal?

Though Emily (My wife) makes fun of me for it, (lovingly of course,) I enjoy “old man” cereal, particularly Frosted Mini Wheats.

6.) Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?

Over, but if it’s flipped the other way, it’s a good time to be thankful that I have thumbs and can adapt!

7.) What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Raise a family with my amazing wife; Record an album of original songs; and go backpacking in Yosemite.

Tech Coordinator
Zach DaytonTech Coordinator

1.) What name/nickname do you prefer to be called?

I normally go by Zach, but closer friends know me as Zachy D.

2.) If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

I would label myself as the Tech Intern! I involve myself with everything under the sun related to technology and worship.

3.) What is your favorite verse from The Bible?

I love 1 Timothy 1:5 – The aim of our charge is love from a pure heart, good conscience, and a sincere faith.

4.) What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I am a total audiophile, so I love recording music and capturing sounds and listening to the sonic field of sound! I have my own primitive studio that I would like to turn into something bigger one day! I love to talk about gear and everything related to the Recording Arts!

5.) What is your favorite cereal?

I am the biggest fan of Marshmallow Mateys, the off brand Lucky Charms. The value just can’t be beat!

6.) Which way does your toilet paper hang on the wall – over or under?

Unquestionably, my toilet paper hangs over. It is so easily accessible. There is no sense in having to reach farther and punch the wall on accident whilst the paper is under. Don’t talk to me if your TP hangs under.

7.) What are three things still left on your bucket list?

a. I would love to visit an anechoic chamber one day! An anechoic chamber is essentially a ‘quiet’ room. There is no noise in this room whatsoever! You can even hear your own blood pumping through your body! Wow! b. I would love to meet Stevie Wonder face-to-face. He has been so inspiring to me in my musical career. Never before have I enjoyed an artist more than him! c. I would love to take a trip to the Neumann Microphone factory in Germany!
